- The conference is limited to 150 participants, due to classroom space. REGISTER NOW!
Location:
Pre-Conference Workshop Costs (FREE if registered for the 3-day Conference):
- Pre-Conference Workshop ONLY: $150
- Pre-Conference Workshop ONLY for Summit School District Teachers: $75
Conference Costs (includes Pre-Conference Workshop):
- Individual teacher: $325 (by April 15), $375 (by June 30), $400 (after June 30 or on site)
- First year teacher or student teacher: $200
- Summit School District Teacher: $150
- 5 teachers from one school: $250 per teacher
Pre-Conference Workshop: Diana Noonan and Linda Li will lead a beginning TCI workshop, presenting strategies and best practices for Teaching with Comprehensible Input (TCI). This workshop is for those who are new to TCI (TPR, TPRS, StoryAsking, and Reading strategies using CI).
iFLT Conference: A conference focused on interactive teacher training:
- Learning lab model with master teachers teaching small groups of students (ages will range from elementary-middle-high school.)
- Sessions involve observing classes taught with Comprehensible Input strategies including TPR/TPRS/storytelling/story-asking/reading strategies
- French, Spanish, English, Mandarin Chinese
- Learning lab lead teachers demo and coach
Sessions:
- Developing culture/content based units using CI (Sheltered Subject Matter Instruction)
- Technology: using iPads with storytelling and story-asking
- Using class stories as reading material
- Reader’s Theatre
Schedule:
- Morning Learning Labs will be at Breckenridge Elementary
- 9:00-11:15 Classes
- 11:30-12:15 Debrief with teachers
- Beaver Run Resort will provide shuttles to and from Breckenridge Elementary
- Lunches
- A wide range of restaurants, both grab-and-go and sit-down types, are available within walking distance.
- Afternoon sessions
- 1:45 – 2:45 Sessions with Master Teachers, Presenters, and Keynote Speakers
- 3:00 – 4:00 More Learning Sessions (Closing Meeting on July 19)
- Dinner/after dinner
- Dinner is available in the Beaver Run Resort, as well as in a range of restaurants, from casual to fine dining, within walking distance of the conference.
- Dinner and after dinner are perfect times to create discussion groups, CI-teaching practice groups, or Q&A sessions with other teachers! Great collaboration and fun took place into the wee hours at the past iFLT conference! Take advantage of this time together with fellow teachers, in Breckenridge!
